Ben was Senior Web Developer at Parcom Marketing Inc. from March 2006 to February 2008 and was responsible for creating
and maintaining a multitude of travel related websites, including
TravelAlberta.com. He set up and maintained
multiple CMS systems and excelled in mapping and geocoding technology integration for Travel Alberta
Secretariat, Travel Alberta In-Province, and Parcom Marketing Inc. clients.
As Senior Software Architect at
Vintacom Media Group Inc.
from September 2003 to February 2006, Ben developed and maintained a large network of online dating sites in the Relationship Exchange.
The amount of traffic going to these sites (1M+ visitors per day) required Ben's high quality and high performance
development skills.
Ben was a Senior Web Developer at
Edmonton Public Schools
from March 1998 to August 2003. In that capacity he was able to spend a considerable amount of time building various
web applications that helped to shape the future direction of children and staff in the district.
From 2000 to 2002 Ben was CTO/CFO of Mental Monkeys Inc. a small consulting and custom
software/web development company. Most of Mental Monkeys' market was web and database development for
small businesses.
Ben started his IT career by building a Human Resources Intranet at Videotron Communications Ltd.
(now Shaw Cable) in August 1997 to February 1998.
Ben has an intense passion for figuring out how things work and putting them in motion. His good business
sense has helped him many times, especially in application development, where he has found his ability to put everything
into perspective is one of his best and most appreciated skills.
